Extraction Horror?

So it is settled, I have to have two premolars from my top row extracted. When I went last week to my ortho appointment they even took off the brackets from the two teeth that are soon to be extracted. Only problem? It's expensive as balls!

The folks at my orthodontists office don't do extractions, they told me I had to go to my own dentist. But thing is I don't have one anymore so they referred me to one in my city that is "the cheapest" around. Turns out it isn't so cheap. When I called to set my appointment they wouldn't tell me the cost but they said the first visit I would have to pay $75! JUST FOR THE VISIT!

So my sister then gave me two other numbers to call but they, too, are expensive. My other sister then suggested we call this distant relative of ours who is a dentist and has extracted a tooth from my mom before for free. So now we've been trying to contact her since yesterday to try and see if she would do it for me. It would be very good! My poor wallet can't handle the blow right now.

One thing that scares me about extracting these teeth is the possibility of a gap forming in my front teeth. This is all basically being done to help correct my overbite, so the goal, I believe, is to push the teeth back. But my question is how the hell does it push the bone back? You know, the gum, the thing that is causing the overbite? Maybe I'm not looking at this the correct way and that is why it doesn't make sense to me. I don't want a gap!

UPDATE
9:11pm
My mom just received the phone call from this relative. She simply gave my mom a number to a place she knows where the consultation is free and where I will most likely get a discount on the extraction. I'm having my mom call tomorrow morning since I'll be stuck in class all day. This better be good. I'm not going anywhere else!
